Canadian Public Accountability Board appoints new director Richard Payette
TORONTO, April 16, 2021 – The Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), Canada’s public company audit regulator, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Payette, FCPA, FCA as director.
“On behalf of the board, it is my pleasure to welcome Richard to this role,” said Benita Warmbold, CPAB Chair. “Richard brings decades of experience in audit, business management and leadership across diverse Canadian and global sectors. We look forward to his contributions as we continue to drive improvements in the quality and consistency of Canadian public company audits.”
Payette is based in Quebec and currently sits on the board of directors and advisory boards of Export Development Canada, LexRock AI, Lemay, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the Montreal Clinical Research Institute. He previously chaired the Board of Directors of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Fédération des Chambres de Commerce du Québec. Payette was also President and CEO at Manulife Quebec and was BDO Americas CEO and member of the global and Canadian executive committee at BDO International, President and CEO at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and member of the board at Grant Thornton International.
