International Matters

The quality of Canadian audits is affected by the consistency of audit quality around the world.

Many Canadian reporting issuers have global operations. Close coordination is essential to achieving an appropriate level of uniform audit quality across all jurisdictions.

CPAB is actively involved in issues related to auditing and audit policy internationally through our leadership in the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR), an association of independent audit regulators from 56 jurisdictions.

CPAB is a member of the IFIAR board and contributes staff expertise to several other working groups. International leadership roles like these help CPAB drive changes to accelerate audit quality at home and abroad.

CPAB is closely monitoring and participating in dialogue with international regulators and standard setters on current and emerging global audit quality matters. CPAB will continue to play a leadership role on the global regulatory stage.
